Welcome to DUET!

DUET stands for Daughters, dUdes, mothers & others fighting cancer Together. It is a new research study sponsored by the American Institute of Cancer Research that explores whether an online program can help cancer survivors and their chosen partners eat healthier, exercise more and lose weight.

Healthy eating and exercise are important for cancer prevention. These lifestyles help:

  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Reduce the chance of getting other kinds of cancer or chronic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease
  • Improve sleep, energy level, and emotional health

What is DUET?

DUET is a research study that will help us understand the benefits of healthy eating and exercise for overweight or obese cancer survivors and their chosen partners. The study is open to those who live in North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Why is it important to participate in research?

Cancer survivors are at higher risk for many health conditions. It is important that we understand how lifestyle changes can reduce risk for this population, and how we can best help survivors make changes. Participating in the DUET study will help us find some of the answers.
